Asking about a Hadith if it is Sahih.

Q; Can you find out for me if this hadeeth is saheeh or not?
Barakallahu Feek.

Sunan Abu Dawood
no (345)
Narrated Aws Ibn Aws Ath-Thaqafi I heard the apostle of allah (SAWS)say: Men tell their wives when to take a bath: "If anyone makes (his wife) wash and he washes himself on Friday, goes out early (for Friday prayer), attends the sermon from the beginning, walking, not riding, takes his seat near the Imam, listens attentively, and does not indulge in idle talk, he will get the reward of a year’s fasting and praying at night for every step he takes."

A; All-Praise is due to Allah,

Narrated Aws ibn Aws ath-Thaqafi:I heard the apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) say: If anyone makes (his wife) wash and he washes himself on Friday, goes out early (for Friday prayer), attends the sermon from the beginning, walking, not riding, takes his seat near the imam, listens attentively, and does not indulge in idle talk, he will get the reward of a year's fasting and praying at night for every step he takes.
Abu Dawoud Book 1, Number 0345

Abu Dawoud said in his letter to the people of Maccah: Every thing (Hadiths) that have been silent about, for verily is good (authentic).

Al-Baghawi said in sharih As-Sunnah no:2/570, Hadith Hassan.

Abdul-Huq Al-Ishbaili said in the beging of his introduction of his book Ahkaam As-Sughorah p:313 that its chain narration is authentic.

Albani said in his authentication to Abu Dawoud 's Sunnan that its authentic.

It was also narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 496; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi, 410 from Aws ibn Aws al-Thaqafi that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever does ghusl on Friday and causes (his wife) to do ghusl, and sets out early, and comes close to the imam and listens and keeps quiet, for every step he takes he will have the reward of fasting and praying qiyaam for one year.”

As to the wording “Causes (his wife) to do ghusl” Ibn al-Qayyim said in Zaad al-Ma’aad, 1/285:
means has intercourse with his wife. This is how it was interpreted by Wakee’

So the final ruling to this Hadith is that its authentic insha-Allah.
and Allah knows best...
