Compulsory Ghusal for woman's discharge of sperm.

Q; salam, pls is ritual bath compulsory on a lady that has discharge (as a result of sexual huge) when she speaks with or thinj about her fiancee.

A; All-Praise is due to Allah,
Please forgive my dear respected brother Solaja, but I have been very busy lately to catch up with everyones inquiries…

It is compulsory for every male and female that discharges sperm to perform Ghusal (bath), the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Water is for water” (Saheeh Muslim, 151), i.e., ghusl becomes waajib when fluid is emitted as a result of sexual stimulation.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) commanded women to do ghusl if they notice water (fluid), as was reported by Maalik in al-Muwatta’ (1/51), and by al-Bukhaari (282) and al-Nasaa’i (1/114) from Umm Salamah (may Allaah be pleased with her) who said: Umm Sulaim, the wife of Abu Talhah, came to the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and said, “O Messenger of Allaah, Allaah is not too shy to tell the truth. Does a woman have to do ghusl if she has an (erotic) dream?” He said, “Yes, if she sees water (fluid).” In this hadeeth, he (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) commanded women to do ghusl if they see water, i.e., maniy.

It was narrated from Zaynab the daughter of Umm Salamah that Umm Salamah said: “Umm Sulaym came to the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and said, ‘O Messenger of Allaah, Allaah is not too shy to tell us the truth. Does a woman have to do ghusl if she has a wet dream?’ The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: ‘Yes, if she sees water (a discharge).’ Umm Salamah covered her face and said, ‘O Messenger of Allaah, can a woman have an erotic dream?’ He said, ‘Yes, may your hands be rubbed with dust. How else would her child resemble her?’”

(Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 130; Muslim, 313)

It was narrated that ‘Aa’ishah said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was asked about a man who notices some wetness but does not remember having a wet dream. He said, “He should do ghusl.” He was asked about a man who thinks that he had an erotic dream but does not see any wetness. He said, “He does not have to do ghusl.” Umm Salamah said, “O Messenger of Allaah, does a woman have to do ghusl if she sees something like that?” He said, “Yes, women are the twin halves of men.”

(Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 113; Abu Dawood, 236)

As mentioned in the Hadith due to the discharge of women's sperm he (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) commanded Umm Salamah to do Ghusal.

As for the characteristics of and identifying women's sperm, the source for these descriptions of maniy come from the hadeeth of Umm Sulaym (may Allaah be pleased with her), who asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) about a woman who sees a dream like a man sees (i.e., an erotic dream). The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “If a woman sees that, she should do ghusl.” Umm Sulaym said: I felt shy when I heard that. She asked, “Is that possible?” The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “How else would the child resemble his father or mother? The water of the man is thick and white, and the water of the woman is thin and yellow. Whichever of the two prevails or comes first decides which parent the child will resemble.”
(Agreed upon. Saheeh Muslim, 469).

Also the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) to ‘Ali ibn Abi Taalib (may Allaah be pleased with him): “If water gushes forth then ghusl is required.” Narrated by Abu Dawood, 206; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in al-Irwa’, 125. See also al-Sharh al-Mumti’, 1/278. “Gushes forth” means that it comes out forcefully, with feelings of desire.

And Allah knows best...
